childhood. . ."
It would be
difficult to define what two years of stories in my Early Levittown and Beyond blog
have entailed. Has there been an overriding theme? Has your blogger been
attempting to contradict Thomas Wolfe?
I suppose
it has mostly been a celebration of the place where we spent our youth and the
people - students, teachers, families, friends. Maybe it has been a memory lane
nostalgia trip.

Frank, welcome back. These are some of the things I have noticed through the years: 1. The writing is, generally, excellent. 2. There are very few spelling or grammatical errors in the posts. 3. There are very few posters who have a negative remembrance of growing up in Levittown; almost all remember their childhood with exceptional fondness. I'm not certain that this is common. 4. There is an unusual commonality evident in the memories of those of us who grew up in Levittown.
How can it be that such a diverse group of people, from such diverse backgrounds, socio-economic strata, religions, goals and experiences, all feel similarly about their childhood years? Must have been a very special place indeed.

I don't have to GO BACK to my childhood.... I NEVER LEFT!! 63 years and counting... living and reliving my childhood years!! I walk my dog from my old house to Summit Lane School... the same path I walked every day for 6 years. And if it's nice weather, we go on to DAHS's football field where I usually let him run free if no one's around. Makes me feel like it's 1963 again!! Brings back so many memories. I am always tempted to sneak through some back yard like Leslie Wohl and I used to do to make the walk home quicker... hiding from the lady who used to yell at us. (Les lived next door to me). Great times, and the memories are all right here!!
