You can't drive in these cases and a book mobile would be wonderful.

Also, for those who are disabled and/or elderly. Maybe a child who has no way to get around would like the children's books.

Former 1950's resident.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2534840576496087146.post-63367871544935413552011-04-25T04:04:13.348-07:002011-04-25T04:04:13.348-07:00I remember the bookmobile. I was born in 1971 and...I remember the bookmobile. I was born in 1971 and attended Wisdom Lane when it was an elementary school from 1976 to 1983. The bookmobile used to come to the school and we used to hop an and get books. It was fun for a kid. I think they unfortunately stopped that though. However I think the idea is great and it's a great way of getting kids to get a book. I know kindles and such are taking over, but nothing replaces the smell or feel of a library bookClaudinenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2534840576496087146.post-68381573877306365772010-10-16T06:39:35.270-07:002010-10-16T06:39:35.270-07:00don't know why that last comment was published...don't know why that last comment was published anonymous. Wrote a story about it that was included in the anthology "Growing Up on Memory Lane." And a similar story is going into my memoir about my childhood in Levittown. Just FYI==there is a Levittown page on facebook. I moved out of Levittown when I was 14 so I never went to the high schools there but I still live close by and do lots of visits. One day I took a walk through the old neighborhood--wrote about that on my blog too.
Happy reminiscing!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2534840576496087146.post-58901032122197894842010-10-14T06:24:29.205-07:002010-10-14T06:24:29.205-07:00Here is more info......from Rob O'Boyle, broth...Here is more info......from Rob O'Boyle, brother of Dr. Michael O'Boyle class of 1960.
