We have had so little rain this year that we now have to pay a draught tax on all the water we use which really increases our taxes. We were...From Martha-Marti Traystman Welch '60:<br />We were on LI for Christmas and, due to the pending arrival of the blizzard, we left for FL 7:30PM Christmas night. <br /><br />We drove until we got to North Carolina (on Interstate 95) where the road was impassible. We spent from 6:30AM Sunday until about 2PM Sunday in a motel and then headed south again. The road was much better by then, although it was still snowing. We crossed the South Carolina border into GA about 10:00PM Sunday and took off this again this morning heading for Florida, no more snow. <br /><br />We arrived in the chilly south at about 3PM. The temps today were in the 40's and expected to drop to freezing overnight. Brr-r-r-r for Florida. I understand that Miami is having some freezing weather too.<br /><br />I love reading your blog and it really brings back the time when life was so wonderful with no responsibilities and lots of good times.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
