Guitarist Sterling Morrison and The Velvet Underground
Sterling Morrison, who died in 1995, was an original member of The Velvet Underground. A guitarist, Morrison graduated from Division Avenue High School in 1960 and then attended Syracuse University. Maureen "Moe" Tucker, who graduated from Levittown Memorial High School in 1962, was the group's drummer. Her brother Jim was Division class of 1960. In the photo (left to right) are Morrison, Tucker, Lou Reed and Doug Yule.
According to Wikipedia, "The Velvet Underground was an American rock band formed in New York City. First active from 1965 to 1973, their best-known members were Lou Reed and John Cale, who both went on to find success as solo artists. Although never commercially successful while together, the band is often cited by many critics as one of the most important and influential groups of the 1960s. The Velvet Underground was managed by Andy Warhol." Check Google for additional information.
