From Ed Gifford, class of 1960: My parents rent for half a two family house was $35 a month (1954). My mother, who handled the bills, thought they would go bankrupt paying $55 a month for the mortgage on our Levitt house.
The model used in the ad was the style of house we lived in. I had forgotten that small white 'picket' fence with the birdhouse on top. What was the purpose of the drywell right next to it? The tall, bathroom cabinet used for towels, etc., now sits in my garage.
